The B-52s show their True Colors
The B-52s, the World's Greatest Party Band, recently offered a hand in helping to raise money for The Cat Clinic of North Georgia's Rescue Cat Fund. The B-52's donated signed items for auction, as well as tickets and passes to their June 16th show at Chastain Park. B-52's fans from all over the world participated in the online auction each trying to outbid others for one-of-a-kind memorabilia. Though the show tickets didn't include airfare and accomodation, winner Seth Haldeman flew to Atlanta from Puerto Rico to enjoy the True Colors show which featured performances and appearances by the Cliks, Tegan and Sara, Rosie O'Donnell, the B-52's and Cyndi Lauper.
Seth, pictured above with Dr. Pruett and B-52s guitarist Keith Strickland, also spent time backstage with the band and was glad that his winning bid helped to support our Rescue Fund. Later in the evening, Dr. Pruett chatted with B-52s divas Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson about the clinic's newest efforts involving ten momma cats and kitties that were seized earlier in the day (read the details here). Cyndi Lauper popped in to say "hi" to Kate and Cindy and while she was there, Kate introduced Cyndi to Dr. Pruett and insisted the three of them taking a photo. A good time had by all, and for a good cause. Thanks again to the B-52s and to all the B's fans who made this effort so successful!
