Tilly's surgery and recovery

Tilly's left front leg was amputated on Jan.21 by Dr. Pruett here at the Cat Clinic. The surgery itself went smoothly and took about an hour. The most tedious part of the surgery was separating the nerves from Tilly's amputated arm.

Tilly recovered from surgery well, and several well-wishers came by to visit. In her still-groggy state, it took her a bit to realize her painful leg had been removed, but she quickly adjusted and resumed her task of being cute and purring loudly.

In a few weeks, Tilly's broken hind leg will be re-examined and put in a splint. Our girl still has a long road ahead of her, but we're certain her spirit will pull her through.

Our goal is, ultimately, to be able to place Tilly in a loving home with a family who understands and can care for her unique needs. We feel she will adapt very well to this life-altering, but life-saving surgery, as she is a regular sweeheart and a lovebug. Check back for more updates on Tilly, or, if you'd like to check on her progress in person, feel free to visit our clinic during regular business hours.
