Rescued cats in need

The Cat Clinic of North Georgia is a veterinary clinic, but we all have a passion for rescuing and helping animals however we can. It has definitely been a struggle for us to stay afloat in this economy, but we are trying not to let this affect our ability to help. Here are our current rescues, and why our Rescue Cat Fund needs your help

We monitor their health, treat any sicknesses, vaccinate them and carefully screen potential adoptive parents. All of our rescued cats are cared for and loved as if they are our own. None of the rescues will never be at risk of being euthanized once they are in our care. Please feel free to drop by our clinic during regular business hours, or call us if you have any questions about our rescue cats.

(updated 7.5.10)

TOLSTOY

Tolstoy is a 12 year-old Absynian who recently lost his forever home. He desperately needs to find a family to live out his golden years. He is a sweet fellow, a bit shy at first, but really enjoys getting his chin rubbed. Like any Abby, Tolstoy can be a big talker. He has previously lived with a dog and isn't afraid to stand up for himself. He will probably take a little time to open up, but from what we have seen, we are sure he will be a great addition to any home.

STAR

She is a fiesty, happy-go-lucky little gal even though her mouth seems to hang in a frown. Star has expressive eyes, is playful, loves being around other kittens and is generally a bundle of kitten joy. Even though she is the youngest of our rescues, she is so adorable that the older kittens look after her and love playing with her. As of July '10 Star is approximately 3 months old and is in that loveable kitten phase that everyone enjoys.

NOVA

Nova is a sweet, curious gal who isn't afraid to explore and. She has a mischievous smile and a meow that goes for days. Sleek and quiet, she gets along well with humans and is adept at finding quiet, out of the way places to snooze. She doesn't mind other cats, but wants to meet them at her own pace. Nova is in excellent health, has been vaccinated and spayed. She also had a hernia which Dr. Pruett repaired - we expect she will have no lingering effects and will live a happy life.

JOE CAT

Joe Cat is a senior who had a untreated leg infection over many months that had become septic and threatened his life. Surgery to remove dead tissue and a skin graft were performed by Dr. Pruett, and Joe Cat rebounded remarkably. Joe Cat loves to hang out in quiet rooms and loves his human friends. He has a skin condition unrelated to his injury, but is otherwise in good health. The only thing missing is a home for him to live out his golden years.

REESE

Reese is a fearless adventurer and explorer, and quite an independent gal as well. With her distinctive yellow tip on her tail, she is a real joy to watch and her purrs will melt your heart. She keeps to herself and loves to snooze by the window where there is sunshine and loves to play with the flying feather toy. She gets along well with humans and all the other cats and would make a great addition to any household. Reese is in good health and has been spayed and vaccinated. As of May 2010, she is approximately 6 months old.

SAMMY

Sammy is a loveable orange tabby with big, loving eyes and a warm personality. He is a sweet boy and doesn't get intimidated by other cats. Sammy is a low maintenance guy, loves to snooze and watch the world go by. His ideal home would be one that is quiet and has lots of sunshine and quiet nooks and crannys. As of May 2010, we approximate Sammy to be about 2 years old. He is neutered, has been vaccinated and is ready to a forever house cat.

PILGRIM

Pilgrim is a very sweet boy, but is very, very shy. He has big, curious eyes, a peaceful expression and it a darling boy. He loves, absolutely loves other cats, but it takes a little time for him to get to know newhuman friends. We estimate Pilgrim to be about 10 or 11 months. He is in perfect health, has been neutered and vaccinated.

SCOUT

Scout was found living in the empty lot with his brother Pilgrim last year. Since then he has taken very nicely to being an indoor cat. The only thing that is missing is a forever home. Scout has a great personality, and loves other cats and humans a like. He is trusting, loves to give hugs, loves to snooze and always is in the right place at the right time. Come by and see if you don't agree.

MAMA BRISTOL

We named this gal Bristol because she's too young to have kittens. This young gal arrived shortly after giving birth. She patiently nursed her brood of 5 to the point of exhaustion, and even endured long weeks of being in isolation with them while everyone was being treated and nursed back to health. Bristol is about a two years old, is in good health and has been spayed. She is very shy and prefers to spend time by herself snoozing in a corner. It takes her a bit to warm up, but she would make an outstanding addition to any quiet, small family.

BERRIES

One of Mama Bristol's boys. He and his brother Cobbs were born here in the clinic and haven't know a real home. Both boys are sweet, inquisitive and high energy. It's not unusual to see him and his brother racing up and down the halls and chasing a feather toy. It's a good show and he is one of the cats who will play until he is exhausted. Berries has been netuered, vaccinated and in good health. He is Cobbs' best friend and would be lost without him.

COBBS

Cobbs is just as sweet and charming as his brother, and is winning everyone over with his innocent and charming nature. He is playful and gets along well with other cats and all humans. He is not as energetic as Berries, but does love to run get into wrestling matches with his brother. Very much loves to snuggle up to humans, loves to lick fingers and hands. We would love for Cobbs to go home with his brother as they love each other very much and can't imagine separating them.

BOOMER

Boomer was born deaf but doesn't allow his disability to hold him back. He is people friendly and gets along well with other cats. He likes to play, but is also very inquisitive. Boomer is our resident water cat and loves to play in the sink with the water running over his head. Boomer has been neutered and vaccinated, and is approximately one year old.

FLUFFY

Fluffy is a beautiful long haired calico who was rescued by a neighbor after her owners had moved and left her abandoned in their garage. This gal prefers to be by herself and doesn't mind hanging out around the house snoozing or lying in the sun. She would do well in a quiet household as she tends to hide when there are a lot of people around. She'd make an ideal pet for someone wants a cat, but doesn't want one who needs constant attention and affection. Sometimes she's friendly, sometimes she is cranky, but that's our girl.
