For Myou

Myou and her frail sister were rescued from a north Georgia shelter. They arrived dirty, and infected with the feline panleukopenia virus (feline distemper) for which, in kittens, there is no cure and is most often fatal. After a bath, Myou's shivering sister climbed up and draped herself over Myou's back in a desperate attempt to find some warmth. Little Myou stoically held her sister on her back the rest of the night. Myou's determined spirit stands for all rescue cats and kitties who are sick or searching for a home. Myou's sister passed away a few days later, but Myou struggled on until the virus claimed her life ten days later.

This page is in memory of Myou. Her strength and struggle inspired us all.

Myou: 1. unusual, 2. dark, 3. life; destiny
